2007 Power Training Camp with Hunter Allen. Solvang, CA

Thanks again for the opportunity to participate. The Threshold Power Camp was an amazing experience. The event was executed flawlessly with superior service provided through the entire duration. Being coached by the leading power meter authority, Hunter Allen, enabled me to reach the next level of cycling.

While I had trained with a Powermeter for little over a year, the sessions allowed me to really focus in on several aspects of my annual training routines. The combination of receiving education while on the road, in post-ride 1-on-1 sessions and in the daily lectures provides an opportunity to target various aspects of training with a power meter. Learning from the leading coaches in this area is truely special.

The service provided was excellent and truely exceeded my expectations. The staff was very professional and always anticipated our needs. It almost felt like being a professional rider having team mechanics, support cars and staff available daily. The group of riders was well assembled and I have made new friends on this trip. The routes were not only beautiful but also very challenging.

Thanks again for everything!

Sorry this has taken me a few days. I think I was more tired than I realized from all that terrific riding. The camp far surpassed even my highest expectaions. The riding was unparalleled and your support and organization made everything fun and safe and relaxing. You make it look easy but I am sure it was a ton of work! The opportunity to work with Hunter and Adnan really added to the experience. The first thing I did when I got home was make all new cool graphs on Cycling Peaks. Thanks for putting everything together. I so enjoyed meeting you and hope to do another camp next year. Good luck with your season.

I thought the camp was great. I thought the coaching from Hunter and Adnan was super. I was hoping you'd ride a bit with us. Oh well, perhaps next time. I thought the help from Matt and Jill was super. Thank you again and it would appear the 3 of us are looking good at this time for a return trip next year should your camp be similar.

Rockin'.

I also had a great time and I want to tell you that this camp was one of the best organised and most cohesive camps I have done in a while. Thanks for all your hard work and I look forward to more camps in the future.

Ditto here. Only thing that could have made it better Was Jack Bianchi bringing his Ferrari up for us to test drive in!

Awesome camp Robin! Way fun and great organization.

Let's do it again next year!

I wanted to thank you again for an Excellent camp experience! Everything exceeded my expectations. From the time the plane wheels hit the ground, in Santa Barbara on Sunday, till lift off the following Sunday, you seem to have everything covered! Fantastic coaches and support staff, epic rides around Solvang and all the little details in between that ensured, all I had to do was think about riding! I think what says it all, is that a bunch of the other campers and I were already talking about coming back next year, before the camp was even over!

Please feel free to use any of the above as a testimonial, I could go on and on, but tried to keep it short, or I could write more if it would help, everyone in my office got to hear about it whether they wanted to or not today, and they all said, man, you really had a good time, I need a vacation like that!

"Robin's advice on power-based training has been invaluable. His analysis of my power meter data has helped transform a steep learning curve into something manageable as well as enjoyable. Prior to working with Robin or power data analysis, I had started training again after a 2 year hiatus with the intention of racing in '07. However, I made a decision to begin racing in '06 to gain experience. What has helped me the most is his insight into balancing training stress with rest periods. As a new racer, I have had many questions as to when I should taper, how much I should train and how much I should rest. At several points in the last few months I've found myself on somewhat of an edge of overtraining and uncertain how to proceed. Robin has been able to make sense of the power data and help me through these difficult periods in my training. As I result, I have made some significant gains across all power levels and more importantly, enjoyed the process and stayed healthy and strong.

I recently rode at LOTOJA - 206 miles from Logan UT to Jackson, WY and finished *solo* in 13 hours, 50 minutes. This was a real accomplishment for me considering that I had not trained for it specifically nor had any rides over 70 miles this season or in the last 2 years. When I decided to do it, Robin gave me advice on how best to structure my rides around the time I had left and more specifically how to taper and adjust to altitude so I could have a successful ride. I am thrilled with what I was able to accomplish and would like to thank Robin for his great work!
